Theglovner is looking for musicians with the following skills / abilities:

Lead Guitarist

About Theglovner

We are a gigging covers band but are currently in the process of replacing our existing guitarist who has decided he can’t continue in the band over personal reasons.

Everyone in the band loves just getting up to play as much as we can wherever we can but, long term goal is to break into the Corporate/Function scene and make a little extra money into the bargain.

The current line up is:

Tony-Lead Male Vocals/Duets/Backing Vocals (Depending on song) and Rhythm Guitar in places
Lauren- Lead Female Vocals/Duets/Backing Vocals (Depending on song)
Stuart-Drums, Backing Vocals in places
Chris-Bass (and one or two vocal lines here and there, not too much though)

So once we get someone to fill the position of Lead Guitar we will be running as a five piece.

Pretty varied selection, there are more which I can’t quite remember off the top of my head while writing this and obviously over time we will be adding the more cheesy wedding type tracks to satisfy that market.

We need to bring in a guitarist who both has the ability to recreate the guitar part of a song where applicable, but equally confident in arranging his own guitar part if the original doesn’t provide a memorable lead line (taking the synth/keys line for instance). The ability to solo on queue (blues style over a twelve like Jailhouse Rock, or Rock style to keep a section going down well going on for longer in something like Back in Black) is also a must.
The ability for backing vocals isn’t a must but always a bonus if you can.

We practice once a week on a Monday in Verden Studios in Portobello between 6:30pm and 9:30pm and are trying to organise auditions for guitarists in this period, so the question is, would this be something you may be interested in?
